Energy conservation technologies for mitigation and adaptation in the built environment: the role of ventilation strategies and smart materials

25-26 September 2013, Athens, Greece
The 34th AIVC conference aims to focus on research, technologies, policies and market transformation to employ in an optimal way proper mitigation and adaptation techniques aiming to reduce the energy consumption of buildings and improve the urban microclimate. The conference will address the energy impact of ventilation and air infiltration while ensuring good indoor air quality and thermal comfort, as well as converging work on smart materials to reduce the carbon footprint of the building sector.

The conference will foster new research and development, applications and market transformation in these areas with the support of the following international initiatives:

•     venticool—the international platform for ventilative cooling;
•     ECRC—the European Cool Roof Council
•     TightVent Europe—the Building and Ductwork Airtightness Platform.

 The conference will consist of 3 or 4 parallel tracks devoted to a large extent to the following topics:

•     Ventilative cooling;
•     Cool roofs and other mitigation and adaptation techniques;
•     Envelope and ductwork airtightness;
•     Ventilation system performance and indoor air quality.

 Best papers will be considered for full publication in peer reviewed scientific journals.

l’ AICVF (dont fait partie IBPSA France) est membre fondateur de CLIMAMED , le congrès dédié aux climats méditerranéens, qui a lieu tous les deux ans  dans un des 5 pays organisateurs. Ils rassemblent de 200 à 400 participants originaires d’une douzaine de pays.

Cette année le congrès aura lieu à Istanbul , les 3 et 4 octobre.

Pour les membres de l’ AICVF le prix du Congrès est de 190€ (  40€ pour les étudiants)

Biennially organized International Mediterranean Congress of Climatization, CLIMAMED, will take place in Istanbul, Turkey this year on October 3-4, 2013 and will be hosted by TTMD.

Deadline for abstract submission was declared as February 15, 2013 in the congress calendar and we have received many abstracts so far. Due to great deadline extension requests, the Organization Committee of the congress has decided to extend the abstract submission deadline to March 8, 2013. However, other dates and deadlines will remain unchanged.
